Trauma-informed therapy rooted in principles of anti-oppression, anti-racism, harm reduction and collective liberation.

Facilitating belonging and connectedness is at the heart of my work. How we relate to ourselves and others shapes our perspectives on the world and impacts the quality of our overall well-being. It is painful to feel disconnected, cut off, or otherwise disassociated from parts of ourselves or our communities. When we cannot live into our fullness, we suffer.

In therapy, I hold space for your intersecting identities, diverse life experiences, and nuanced perspectives while helping you attune to the impact each of these has on your life. As you gain a better understanding of your experiences, I support you in actualizing joy and centering both individual and collective healing.

As a Bangladeshi, Muslim, queer, non-binary therapist, I have personally experienced the challenges of finding a mental health provider who is equipped to address the complex, nuanced, and specific experiences and identities I carry. This moved me to intentionally center BI&POC individuals in my work while also creating space for people from other minoritized backgrounds.

my approach

Therapy offers a brave and empowering space for you to critically examine, process, understand, and address your experiences, emotions, beliefs, values, and goals. I will encourage you to bring vulnerability and compassion to your journey, while I aim to practice accountability alongside you. My work is trauma-informed and rooted in principles of anti-oppression, anti-racism, harm reduction, and collective liberation. I value understanding the impacts of race, class, gender, sexuality, and other factors on our individual and collective experiences.

As a community-centered provider, I emphasize healing practices beyond traditional Western forms of talk therapy. While I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other conventional modalities into my practice, I am inspired by the rich history of storytelling and art used as tools of resistance and healing by my Bangladeshi/South Asian ancestors.
