Clinician | They/Them

My work centers on fostering belonging and connectedness, recognizing how our relationships with ourselves and others shape our well-being. I address disconnection and help you explore and integrate your intersecting identities and experiences. By understanding how these factors impact your life, I support you in finding joy and pursuing both individual and collective healing.

Therapy with me offers a brave space to critically examine and process your experiences, emotions, and goals. I encourage vulnerability and compassion while practicing accountability. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in anti-oppression, anti-racism, and collective liberation principles, with a focus on the impacts of race, class, gender, and sexuality.

As a Bangladeshi, Muslim, queer, non-binary therapist, I understand the importance of finding a provider who can hold and navigate complexities and nuanced experiences. Moved by over 8 years of community organizing experience, I am committed to supporting BI&POC individuals, immigrants, LGBTQIA+ people, and survivors of violence and trauma. My experience also includes oncology care, assisting those navigating loss, grief, and chronic illness. Fluent in Bangla, I am committed to providing culturally respectful and holistic care tailored to people’s unique needs and experiences

Background:

My therapeutic practices are informed by over 8 years of community organizing work, primarily with Asian/Asian American activists and organizers across the U.S., and particularly in New York City. I have worked extensively with South Asian/Indo-Caribbean working-class people; LGBTQIA+ adults and young adults; survivors of domestic, intimate, and relational violence; survivors of trauma; and immigrants and undocumented individuals. I also have experience in oncology care, assisting people navigating grief, loss, death, and dying while dealing with chronic or terminal illness. Much of my work and clinical interest center on healing trauma on personal, relational, and collective levels using a systems-focused lens.

Beyond Therapy:

I honor and respect boundaries, personal time, well-being, caretaking, and rest. In my downtime, you can often find me spending time at home with my kitties, escaping into a book, or with loved ones as we share meals and conversations about all things supernatural, true crime, politics, arts and culture, connectivity, and building healthy relational dynamics. I find joy in baking sweet treats, creating flower arrangements, making art, and envisioning a liberated world.
